A cruise port taxi gets you from your door, an airport, or a railway station straight to your specific cruise terminal, with no changeover partway. Airport CabConnect books cruise port taxis to every major UK cruise terminal, agreed at a fixed price before you travel, with your ship and departure time confirmed at booking so your pickup accounts for it. For ferry crossings see our seaport transfers page, and full details of everything we cover are on the homepage.
Cruise port taxis are arranged to and from Southampton, Dover, Portsmouth, Tilbury and Liverpool, the main UK cruise embarkation points, with other ports available on request. Southampton and Dover between them handle the large majority of UK cruise departures, so the terminal-specific detail below covers those two.
Southampton runs five cruise terminals: Ocean, Queen Elizabeth II (QEII), City, Horizon and Mayflower, each reached via a different dock gate, and giving us your specific terminal at booking (not just “Southampton”) means your driver takes you to the right gate first time. For full terminal-by-terminal detail, routes, journey times and pricing from Heathrow, Gatwick and London, see our dedicated Southampton Cruise Port Taxi page.
Dover operates two main cruise terminals at the Western Docks, with a third temporary berth opened during peak season. There’s a staffed taxi rank outside both main terminals, confirmed on the Port of Dover’s own cruise page, though on busy turnaround days a pre-booked taxi still means you’re not queuing to find one.
Dover cruises are typically same-day turnarounds: ships usually dock in the early morning with disembarkation from around 7am, and depart again in the afternoon, so if you’re being dropped off for embarkation, afternoon slots are standard rather than something to double-check.
Cruise turnaround days bring several thousand passengers through a terminal within a short window, both disembarking and boarding. A pre-booked taxi means a driver is allocated to you specifically, rather than you competing for one at a busy rank.
It also means your ship and terminal are known in advance, so if disembarkation runs late, your pickup adjusts rather than you missing your slot.
Give us your ship name and the specific terminal from your cruise line’s confirmation, not just the port name. Add your sailing date and whether you need pickup or drop-off (or both, for a return booking).
Let us know passenger numbers and luggage, cruise luggage tends to be larger and more of it than a typical airport trip, so a saloon that suits two people with hand luggage often won’t suit two people with cruise-sized cases. If you need porter or mobility assistance, that’s arranged through your cruise line or terminal directly, so mention it to them as well as to us.
Saloon and estate suit one to three passengers, people carriers suit four to five, and nine-seater or minibus options cover larger groups travelling to the port together, minibuses arranged on request.
Fares are fixed once you book, based on distance, vehicle size and travel date. Get a quote for your specific route and terminal before booking.
